OR Registered Nurse | Portland, Maine

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room with a focus on Gynecology and Genitourinary procedures. This contract position offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment within a Level One Trauma Center, perfect for an RN with strong surgical expertise and excellent patient care skills.

Responsibilities Include

• Providing skilled nursing care during complex surgeries including robotics (DaVinci Xi), PCNLs, nephrectomies, ureteral reimplants, hysterectomies, cystectomies, colpocleisis, hysteroscopies, and ureteroscopies
• Caring for a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team in managing a 26-bed operating room unit
• Using advanced equipment such as Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot
• Documenting care accurately within the Epic EMR system
• Participating in one overnight trauma call per week on a rotating basis
• Being flexible with weekend coverage (1:4 schedule, 12-hour shifts)
  
  

Qualifications And Desired Experience

• Minimum 3 years of Level 1 trauma experience as an OR RN
• Competency with robotic surgical systems and specialized GU/GYN procedures
• CNOR certification preferred
• At least 2 years post-licensure clinical experience
• Strong teamwork, accountability, punctuality, and adaptability
  
  

Schedule

• Shifts: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend rotation: approximately 1 out of 4 weekends
• Call requirement: one overnight trauma call from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
