Occupational Therapist School Setting in Richmond, VA

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Current state licensure (or eligibility) as an OT
• Prior experience in schools preferred, including providing IEP-driven services and documentation
• Strong communication skills to interact with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to diverse student populations and needs
• Comfortable managing a varied caseload and providing both individual and group sessions
  
  

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to identify students’ strengths and needs related to occupational performance in academic settings
• Develop and implement therapy plans in alignment with individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and related service providers for holistic student support
• Deliver direct and consultative services in accordance with IEP goals
• Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress notes, and required documentation for compliance
• Educate and involve families in supporting student goals at home and school
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting
