Responsibilities Include
- Accepting and dispensing prescription medications accurately and in compliance with regulations
- Monitoring patient medication compliance and identifying patterns of overuse
- Ensuring the safe, legal supply and suitability of medicine prescribed to patients
- Maintaining confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
- Advising patients on medication use, possible side effects, and answering their queries
- Providing consultation on prescription and non-prescription drug storage, dosage, and interactions
- Offering additional patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
- Educating patients in the proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
- Compounding medications and preparing sterile solutions following established protocols
- Supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
- Managing inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Communicating effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners regarding drug-related issues
- Current valid MA pharmacist license (in-hand)
- Experience in retail or long-term care pharmacy; retail pharmacists willing to be trained
- Strong communication skills and patient-focused approach
- Option 1: Second shift, 1:00 PM 10:00 PM, with rotating weekends
- Option 2: Overnight shift, 9:00 PM 8:00 AM, working 7 days on, 7 days off (overnight pay differential available)
