In this contract position, you will operate advanced imaging equipment, maintain a sterile field, and ensure safety and comfort for patients across both routine and emergency cases.
Schedule/Hours
- Facility may schedule travelers for 36 or 48 hours weekly based on departmental needs during the 13-week assignment.
- R.T.(R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR one of the following advanced credentials: R.T.(VI), R.T.(CV), R.T.(CI), or RCIS
- Preferred: 1-2 years previous experience in interventional radiology
- Strong understanding of sterile procedures and radiographic imaging equipment
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations, including providing Basic Life Support
- Assist with a variety of interventional radiology procedures, such as angiography, biopsies, tube placements, thrombolysis, and injections
- Maintain a sterile environment and monitor patient safety throughout procedures
- Review patient charts, validate orders, and assess medication/NPO status prior to procedures
- Educate and support patients before, during, and after procedures, providing thorough discharge instructions
- Adjust and manage operation of imaging equipment to ensure optimal diagnostic image quality
- Monitor patient vital signs and remain alert for adverse reactions
- Administer contrast under physician supervision when needed
- Ensure availability of supplies and medications, and manage imaging data within PACS and EMR systems
- Adhere to radiation safety practices in alignment with ALARA principles
- Respond promptly to emergency situations to ensure patient wellbeing
