Key Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiogram studies including Transthoracic 2-D, M-Mode, Color-flow Doppler, Transesophageal, Exercise stress, and pharmacological echocardiography.
- Conduct additional cardiac diagnostic tests such as EKGs, Holter monitoring and analysis, and cardiac stress testing.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment (echocardiographs, cardiac stress systems, electrocardiographs, Holter monitors) to obtain accurate data for cardiology interpretation.
- Manage hospital information systems for study scheduling, processing, and billing.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and equipment disinfection standards.
- Provide guidance and preceptorship to students from contracted colleges and universities.
- Apply age-specific testing protocols, including neonatal and pediatric patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer credential mandatory.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Successful completion of a certification program and/or minimum two years of hands-on echocardiography experience.
- Preferred: Cardiovascular Sonography Certificate Program graduate.
- Extensive echocardiography experience in a hospital environment, including pediatric and neonatal imaging, highly desirable.
