Key Qualifications
- Valid certification or licensure to teach students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience working as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher
- Strong knowledge of various communication methods, including American Sign Language and total communication approaches
- Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with general education staff, families, and service providers
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and advocating for students’ language access and participation
- Provide direct instruction and specialized support to students with varying degrees of hearing loss
