Position Details
- Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (7:00 PM start), 36 hours/week
- Weekend Rotation: Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (nights)
- Holiday Requirements: Coverage for approximately 75% of holidays
- No on-call or call-back responsibilities
- Floating to adult critical care units as needed
- Contract assignment
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a comparable CTICU setting
- Current RN license with specialized skills in ICU, CVICU, or CTICU preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Proficient with Epic electronic medical records system (required)
- Demonstrated expertise in cardiac surgery care with devices such as ECMO, Impella (right and left), IABP, LVAD/RVAD, and OHT
- Capable of delivering patient presentations twice per shift (at 3 PM and 8:30 PM)
- Strong teamwork and proactive care approach
- Deliver comprehensive care to ICU patients recovering from complex cardiac surgeries
- Monitor and manage advanced patient monitoring devices including Philips and Edwards monitors
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, intensivists, and IV/VAT teams
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in the Epic EMR system
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing departmental training
- 900 licensed bed teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma and Pediatric Trauma Centers
- Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations
- Magnet-recognized for nursing excellence
- 14-bed CTICU with an average census of 11 patients
- Support staff including CNA, phlebotomy on-call, and unit receptionist during weekdays
