COVR Certified Surgical Tech - Charlotte, North Carolina

A healthcare facility in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a skilled CVOR Surgical Technician to join their Operating Room team on a contract basis. This opportunity offers a 12-hour day shift schedule, with 36 hours per week, and requires strong expertise in Cardiothoracic, Vascular, and Thoracic cases. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years OR experience in the specialty and hold the necessary surgical tech certifications.

Location:

Situated in Charlotte, North Carolina, this hospital is equipped with 13 operating rooms plus an additional procedure room, handling an average of 45 cases daily. Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in Cardiothoracic surgeries such as CABG, AVR, MVR, and mini mitral procedures
• Support Vascular surgeries including fistula creation, transcarotid revascularization, bypasses, and thrombectomy
• Assist in Thoracic cases including VATS, robotic resections, lobectomies, and pericardial windows
• Collaborate with OR assistants, anesthesia teams, and nursing staff to ensure efficient room turnovers and patient positioning
• Utilize EMR (Epic), IV pumps (Alaris), and medication dispensing systems (Omnicell) during procedures
• Complete unit-specific orientation (1 week Main OR; 2 weeks CVOR)
• Respond to on-call requirements approximately 45 weeknight calls and 12 weekend calls per 6-week schedule
  
  

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
• Current BLS certification required; national certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in operating room settings, specifically in Cardiothoracic OR
• Proven experience working with complex surgeries in Orthopedic, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, and related specialties
• Ability to work onsite with a professional, team-oriented attitude
