Clinical Pharmacist in Pineville, LA

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a 200 bed community hospital in the Alexandria, LA area. This contract role offers an ASAP start for a 13-week assignment, providing essential pharmacy services in a dynamic hospital environment.

Schedule & Hours

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating shifts including 6:00 AM4:30 PM, 7:00 AM5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM11:00 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Order verification ensuring accuracy and safety of medication orders
• Supervising pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency
• Consulting with physicians and nurses to optimize patient medication therapy
• Applying pharmacokinetic principles to tailor drug regimens
• Utilizing hospital IT systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for medication management
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Active pharmacist license in good standing
• Experience working in clinical pharmacy settings, preferably hospitals
• Competency with EPIC and Pyxis systems
• Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary consultation
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
