Job Summary
Sole Solutions Counseling & Consulting Services is seeking a compassionate and motivated licensed therapist to provide school-based behavioral health services for the 2026-27 academic school year. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services within the school setting, supporting students’ emotional well-being and developmental needs. You will utilize evidence-based practices to deliver individual and group therapy, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for children and adolescents. Duties
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments to identify students’ mental health needs, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy for children, trauma-informed care, and behavioral therapy.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on adolescent development, social skills, conflict management, and behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and external providers to coordinate case management and ensure continuity of care.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management procedures to support students experiencing acute emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards and school policies using social work documentation tools and medical records systems.
- Support students with special needs by integrating knowledge of special education, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC/LCMHCA), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LCSWA), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT/LMFTA), or equivalent credential required.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in school-based counseling or related settings preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mental health counseling techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and attachment-based therapy for children.
- Ability to manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention skills and crisis management protocols.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, HIPAA compliance, and social work documentation tools.
- Demonstrated cultural competence in providing services to diverse populations with sensitivity to cultural diversity counseling needs.
- Experience working with adolescents with ADHD, behavioral challenges, emotional dysregulation, and related mental health needs.
- Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with families, educators, healthcare providers, and community resources.
