Location: Sole Impact Studios in Boone, NC
Hours: Part-time in the afternoons/evenings
About Us
We are a high-energy, positive, and welcoming dance studio focused on building confident, capable dancers through movement. We’re looking for reliable, engaging instructors and assistants who genuinely enjoy working with kids and teens and being part of a team.
Positions available:
-Lead teachers in Hip Hop (pre-teen and teen), Creative Movement (preschool), and Clogging (elementary)
-Assistant teachers in Hip Hop (elementary), Creative Movement (preschool and elementary), Acro (all ages and skill levels), Musical Theater (all ages), and Clogging (elementary)
Lead Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach engaging, age-appropriate classes (usually about 45 minutes each)
- Manage and lead a classroom of up to 16 students
- Keep students focused, motivated, and having fun
- Communicate professionally with parents as needed
- Direct and utilize assistants effectively during class (ex: delegating quick tasks like helping a child, bathroom breaks, etc.)
- Engage with dancers and parents in the Band app by posting class videos and announcements
- Select age-appropriate, family-friendly music
- Prepare students for a Christmas/holiday recital in December and a Spring Showcase in May
Lead Teacher Requirements:
- Prior teaching experience
- Strong classroom management skills
- Confident, clear communicator with both kids and adults
- Energetic, positive, and dependable
- Ability to think on your feet and lead a team

Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers during classes
- Help manage students and maintain a positive environment
- Support individual students as needed (focus, behavior, quick needs like shoes, bathroom breaks, etc.)
- Be attentive, proactive, and ready to jump in
Requirements:
- Experience working with children
- Responsible, reliable, and team-oriented
- Able to take direction quickly and stay engaged throughout class
- Basic dance experience
- Be able to fill in for lead teacher as needed
Schedule & Availability Requirements for Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers:
- Must be available weekday afternoons/evenings when your class is scheduled
- Must have reliable transportation
- Important: Must be able to remain in Boone during some Appalachian State University breaks (including at least 1–2 weeks over Christmas break and a short period after May graduation), as our season extends beyond the ASU calendar

Pay: $16.00 - $30.00 per hour
