What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Intern position at SolarScope Diagnostics?
Job title: Marketing Intern
Employment type: Internship
Location: Buffalo, NY (Hybrid)
Job description:
SolarScope Diagnostics is a two-person, pre-revenue hardware startup building sensor networks that replace modeled solar production estimates with real, measured data. We're looking for a student with an interest in marketing or a related field to build and run our content presence across LinkedIn, our website, Facebook, and YouTube for the upcoming school year — working directly with the founding team.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You won't be shadowing — you'll be running the content calendar.
What you'll do:
- Build a content plan for the year across LinkedIn, our website, Facebook, and YouTube, targeting roughly 3 posts per week
- Attend pitch events and company milestones in person to capture photo and video content
- Turn that photo/video and company updates into finished, published content — not just raw footage
- Plan and track content using SD-MAR, our internal marketing platform
- Meet with the founding team every other week to review progress and plan ahead
What we're looking for:
- Currently enrolled student with a genuine interest in marketing or a related field — any major
- Comfortable attending in-person events to shoot photo/video
- Able to manage a content calendar independently and hit a regular posting cadence
- Willing to learn SD-MAR — no prior experience with it needed
- Bonus: familiarity with content creation, social platforms, or design tools
What you'll get:
- Real ownership of a startup's public content and brand — not busywork
- Direct mentorship from the founding team
- Hands-on experience across content strategy, event coverage, and brand execution
Duration: September 2026 – January 2027
Compensation: Stipend may be available; terms negotiated directly with the candidate
- To apply, send a short note on why this role interests you — a resume is welcome but not required.
