Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Auto Cad Designer Solar & EV role based in San Diego, CA. The designer will create and update detailed solar PV and EV charging layout drawings, including site plans, roof layouts, single-line diagrams, and construction drawings using CAD software. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering inputs, reviewing field data, incorporating code and utility requirements, and preparing drawing sets for permitting, installation, and as-built documentation. The role involves coordinating with project managers and engineers to ensure designs are accurate, efficient, and aligned with project specifications and timelines. The designer will also assist in maintaining drawing standards, templates, and revision control for ongoing and future projects.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Technical Drawing and Drawing to accurately represent solar and EV system layouts.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools commonly used for solar and EV design projects.
- Candidates should possess experience creating and interpreting Construction Drawings, including site plans and electrical diagrams.
- Candidates should possess a background in Design Engineering related to solar PV systems, EV charging infrastructure, or similar fields.
- Knowledge of basic electrical concepts, building codes, and permitting requirements for solar and EV installations is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple drawing revisions and project files are beneficial.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, project managers, and field teams are beneficial.
- Relevant technical education, certification in CAD or drafting, or experience in renewable energy design is preferred.
This role can change to Full-Time after three months depending on performance at our San Diego Office.
