We are seeking a highly skilled Solar PV Installer to join our team. The position is full-time, based in our Novato, CA headquarters. You will work throughout the North Bay Area (Marin, Sonoma, & Napa). We provide training and growth opportunities.
The Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installer is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems in accordance with project plans, building codes, safety standards, and company procedures. This position requires working outdoors at heights, and in varying weather conditions while ensuring safe and high-quality installation of solar equipment.
- Assemble, install, and secure PV solar modules, racking, and mounting hardware.
- Install roof attachments, flashing, and waterproofing materials consistent with California building and roofing standards.
- Run electrical conduit, wiring, grounding systems, and related components under the direction of a licensed electrician (per CA electrical regulations).
- Dig trenching, assist with layout, and installation of ground-mount systems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and safety equipment consistent with OSHA guidelines.
- Follow all OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company safety standards, including fall protection (e.g. safety harness), lockout/tagout, ladder safety, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free job sites.
- Interpret drawings, plans, and installation manuals.
- Perform quality checks to ensure systems meet performance and safety specifications.
- Complete required documentation, photos, and reports for each installation.
- Interact professionally with customers, inspectors, and subcontractors on job sites.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project timelines and performance standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year solar installation experience required.
- Experience in roofing, construction, electrical, or related trade preferred.
- Ability to climb ladders, use hand tools, and power tools safely.
- Comfortable working at heights (roofs, scaffolding, ladders) and in outdoor environments.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Basic understanding of residential or commercial roofing.
- Understanding of electrical systems.
- Ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Commitment to safety and high‑quality workmanship.
- Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10
- NABCEP certification or accredited PV installer certification a plus
- California Journeyman Electrical License a plus
- Heavy equipment certification and experience a plus
