Solarado Roofing & Solar is seeking an experienced Solar Installation Superintendent / Project Manager to lead and execute residential and commercial solar projects throughout Northern California. This is a hybrid leadership role that combines field supervision, project management, and hands-on installation work.Depending on project volume, crew availability, and workflow demands, this position will actively participate in solar and battery installations while also managing crews, schedules, quality control, and project execution from pre-install through PTO.Field Leadership & InstallationPerform hands-on installation work for solar PV, electrical, and battery systems as neededLead by example on job sites, setting installation, safety, and quality standardsSupport crews during complex installs, tight timelines, or staffing gapsEnsure proper integration between roofing and solar installationsProject & Crew ManagementOversee multiple active projects simultaneouslyManage in-house crews and subcontractorsConduct pre-job site walks and installation readiness checksEnsure job sites are properly staged with materials, equipment, and safety controlsScheduling & CoordinationBuild and manage install schedules based on workflow and capacityCoordinate inspections with AHJs and utilities (PG&E, SMUD, etc.)Communicate daily priorities and weekly schedules with crews and office staffAdjust plans in real time to address weather, inspections, and field conditionsQuality Control & ComplianceEnsure installations comply with:NEC and California Electrical CodeLocal AHJ requirementsUtility interconnection standardsManufacturer installation guidelinesPerform quality inspections, punch lists, and final walkthroughsVerify system commissioning, labeling, and operational performanceSafety ManagementEnforce OSHA safety and fall protection standardsConduct toolbox talks and safety briefingsEnsure proper PPE and electrical safety practicesDocument incidents and corrective actions as neededCustomer & Internal CommunicationServe as the primary field point of contact during installationCommunicate timelines, progress, and field changes clearlyCoordinate closely with sales, engineering, permitting, and operationsAssist with warranty, service, and post-install support when requiredReporting & DocumentationTrack project progress, labor hours, and completion milestonesSubmit daily and weekly field reportsIdentify risks, change orders, and cost impacts earlySupport job close-out and final documentationRequired Qualifications5 years of hands-on solar installation experience with increasing leadership responsibilityProven ability to both install and manage solar projectsStrong understanding of:Residential and commercial solar PV systemsBattery storage systems (Tesla, Enphase, Sol-Ark, etc.)Electrical, structural, and roofing interface requirementsExperience managing crews and subcontractorsAbility to read and interpret plans, single-line diagrams, and structural detailsWorking knowledge of AHJ inspections and utility PTO processesValid driver’s licenseStrong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
