What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Compliance position at Solara Surgical Partners?
Overall Responsibility:
This position is accountable to support clinical operational and developmental initiatives throughout the Solara Surgical Partners facility network comprised mostly of ambulatory surgery centers. This position is the subject matter expert in identifying the clinical and process requirements to support a highly efficient and effective interoperative experience for all key stakeholders and to ensure consistent regulatory adherence and readiness. As such, the incumbent must have extensive working knowledge of clinical and regulatory operations necessary to support a wide range of specialties within the healthcare facility. Supports the clinical operation efforts of both existing facilities and facilities under development. Develops, establishes and fosters relationships with local leaders and will build a solid reputation through their commitment, in word and action. In addition, the incumbent will be a hands-on leader willing to roll-up their sleeves in order to ensure the highest quality of work output.
Key tasks and responsibilities (essential functions)
Operations:
1. Assist existing facilities with clinical process needs who are adding additional surgical service lines or enhancing existing service lines as requested.
2. Facilitate and support executive leaders to coordinate improvement of care for achievement of the mission of the healthcare facility.
3. Provide support and consultation as necessary for clinical operational practices at networked facilities.
4. Create guidelines and policies and train clinical leadership staff when opportunities for improvement arise.
5. Support company compliance program initiatives as directed.
6. Review educational tools with clinical leaders for facilities; develop and maintain educational programs as necessary. Establish monitoring methodologies for sustainable compliance with such programs.
7. Develop timelines for clinical leadership projects and monitor progress related to completion of these projects.
8. Accurately identify and expeditiously resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services.
9. Periodic trips to each center to foster relationships and facilitate culture of continuous support, process improvement and sustainable results.
10. Coordinate efforts with senior leaders and staff members in identifying improvement opportunities within the facility and develop justifications to substantiate potential cost savings and enhance regulatory adherence and quality provision of care services.
11. Ensure compliance with regulatory boards/state, including, but not limited to accreditation standards, Medicare, OSHA, and the State Health Department in conjunction with the executive leaders of each facility.
12. Review new regulations for updates needed in facility policies and procedures/standards.
13. In conjunction with facility executive leadership prepares for visits from regulatory agencies and provide support in formulating and executing plans of corrections for identified deficiencies.
14. Foster growth and development of management and leadership skills in clinical leaders.
15. Assist with preparation, monitoring and adherence to annual facility and operational budgets.
16. Maintain expertise with computer-based programs, and utilizes reports to improve facility performance.
17. Communicate and collaborate with Directors and Vice Presidents of facilities on implementing action plans generated from internal reviews.
18. Provides support and expertise in all regulated areas such as credentialing, infection prevention, life safety, employee health, human resources, quality, risk management, etc.
19. Occasional intra/interstate travel required.
20. Other responsibilities and duties as they arise in support of the organization.
Development:
21. Provide clinical expertise during acquisition of new facilities, assist in development of standardized workflow for clinical operations and regulatory compliance.
22. Meet with physician partners or potential physician partners to establish preferences, obtain feedback, and to identify a cohesive partnership strategy to optimize patient care and clinical workflow processes.
23. Provide support in all facets of clinical operations and development when necessary. Communicates with stakeholders on any updates or delays while seeking and implementing solutions.
24. Assist in performance of buildout of clinical module for selected software platform.
25. Provide operational and clinical expertise and strategic insights to develop a life-cycle strategy and evaluation of new programs to be prioritized or advanced into clinical development.
26. Implement best practices and standards in collaboration with other members of the clinical executive team, including establishment of policies and procedures.
27. Assist in initiatives to build clinical department infrastructure.
28. Represent/advocate for clinical operations needs/resources.
29. Demonstrate ability to drive development activities: i.e. experience in all clinical aspects of start-up and conduct, regulatory obligations, adverse event reporting, budgeting.
30. Comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced small company environment and able to adjust
workload based upon changing priorities.
31. Occasional intra/interstate travel required.
Licensure, Certification, Education: Active clinical licensure as a Registered Nurse required. Bachelors’ degree in business, health care or technical discipline preferred.
Experience required: BSN or Master’s degree in nursing or related discipline preferred. Demonstrated leadership in similar positions will be considered in lieu of bachelors/masters degree. 2 – 5 years of management experience preferred but not required.
