What You’ll Do (Job Duties):
Solar Turbines is hiring a Supply Chain Senior Supervisor within the Indirect Procurement organization, responsible for the Non-Manufacturing / Corporate Services related categories.
You will lead a dynamic, single-site team of Buyers (Procurement Specialists); approx. 5-7 direct reports. Your leadership will:
- Build, develop, and mentor a high performing team to execute global supplier strategies.
- Drive quality, delivery, and cost improvements across the supply base.
- Ensure a robust supplier strategy and resiliency.
- Foster a culture of excellence and ethical leadership across a diverse organization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business leaders to ensure execution of business requirements.
- Internal customers will include: Engineering, IT / Digital, Business Management, Marketing, HR, Medical.
- Own and execute sourcing strategies for Non-Manufacturing / Corporate Services related categories.
- Categories will include, but not limited to: Third Party Labor, Engineering Services, R&D, Professional Services, IT Hardware, Software, Hospitality, Audit & Compliance, Procurement Card Program Management.
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure compliant purchasing execution with suppliers to build a competitive advantage through a high performing supply base.
- Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing, and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
- Category Management: Knowledge of category management within an organization’s goods and services sector; ability to use this knowledge to analyze and improve the end-to-end procurement process and maximize business profitability.
- Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.
- Supplier Management: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of goods or services; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
- Contract Management: Knowledge of policies, standards and processes of how to manage and administer contracts; ability to use proper processes and practices for managing and administering a variety of contractual agreements.
- Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

- Bachelor's degree with strong experience in the Purchasing & Procurement job function
- Fluent in Business English in written and oral form
- Bachelor's degree with at least 10-12 years, or Master’s degree with at least 7-10 years, of purchasing and procurement experience
- Experience with identified purchasing categories
- Experience in managing complex and long-term contractual agreements (various contract types including Master Agreements, Schedules, Statements of Work, Terms and Conditions, Non-Disclosure Agreements)
- Experience in interpreting and negotiating contractual elements, both legal and commercial in nature (including Confidentiality, Intellectual Property, Data Privacy, Indemnification, Limit of Liability, Warranty)
- Experience in the development of long-term supplier relationships
- Experience in the development of strategic sourcing strategies
- Sound analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Solid communication skills, high initiative, assertiveness, and organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted purchasing practices and policies
