Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Solar Consultant role located in the CA Central Valley Area. The Solar Consultant will meet with prospective customers, assess their energy needs, and provide tailored solar solutions and proposals. Day-to-day responsibilities include educating customers on solar power benefits, conducting site evaluations, and coordinating with the installation team to ensure accurate system design. The role also involves managing the sales pipeline, following up on leads, and maintaining clear, professional communication throughout the customer journey. The Solar Consultant will track performance metrics, stay current with industry trends and incentives, and support a smooth transition from initial consultation to project installation.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the solar industry and solar power systems, including basic system components, design considerations, and available incentives.
- Experience with lead generation, prospecting, and managing a sales pipeline in a customer-facing environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Proven ability to build trust, handle objections, and guide customers through a consultative sales process.
- Comfort working on-site with homeowners and businesses, including conducting site walks and basic roof or property assessments (as permitted by safety standards).
- Basic proficiency with CRM tools, email, and presentation software to manage leads and prepare proposals.
- Motivated, self-directed work style with the ability to meet goals and deadlines while collaborating effectively with team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications in solar, energy, or sales are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel within the CA Central Valley Area as needed.
