Welcome to Solar Industries! We are a family owned and operated company that sells residential and commercial skylights, windows, doors, and other millwork products. Solar Industries takes pride in providing quality service and affordable prices. We are currently looking for a FINANCIAL CONTROLLER to join our growing team. The Controller will analyze the financial status of the company and work with the CFO to develop and carry out long-term financial goals while directing the preparation of financial reports, statements, audits, and controls.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Including, but not limited to the following:

· Ensure the entire Month-End process is performed timely and accurately.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations ensuring all basic accounting functions are being performed properly.
  • Oversee various account reconciliations (including Bank Reconciliations) and ensure the team resolve any discrepancies timely.
  • Analyze financial reports pre-close and post-close to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes.
  • Perform monthly and ad-hoc reports to the executive team as needed.
  • Assist in various internal and external Audit Requests.
  • Ensure Sales Tax filings are filed properly.
  • Assist with Budgets and Forecasts
  • Oversee the back office function for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ensuring accuracy and timeliness of operation.
  • Recommend and develop improvements to the accounting systems and processes.
  • Work closely with the team to standardize processes and support the ongoing development for improved processes and controls, maintaining relevant documentation.
  • Oversee the intercompany processes between the Operating Companies

· Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies as needed.

· Assist with Cost accounting and inventory costing.

· Review and evaluate inventory levels based on current and expected activity.

· Maintain, administer and oversee Company credit card program

· Establish/recommend major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the company.

· Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis including P&L, balance sheet, sales reporting

· Assist with Epicor software cutover as appropriate to ensure proper financial records

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation required.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a controller or similar leadership role.
  • Experience with AS400.
  • Experience with Spruce a plus.
  • Experience with Epicor implementation is a huge plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
