Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Technician is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of inbound and outbound shipments, quality inspection of returned and finished goods, and maintenance of inventory and shipping supplies. This role supports production and customer satisfaction by ensuring all materials are received, inspected, and shipped in accordance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
RMA Processing
- Receive, inspect, and process RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) shipments from customers.
- Document RMA condition and transfer units to the repair/test lab for evaluation.
- Inspect completed RMAs for quality control and prepare them for return shipment to clients.
- Ensure all RMA documentation is accurate and complete prior to shipment.
Receiving & Inventory
- Receive, inspect, and process purchase orders for raw and prime materials.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders for quantity and condition.
- Transfer received materials to the appropriate inventory cage or storage location.
- Maintain accurate records of received goods in the ERP system.
Outbound Shipping & Quality Control
- Perform quality control inspection on completed/finished goods prior to shipment.
- Pack and prepare finished goods for outbound delivery in accordance with shipping requirements.
- Generate and attach shipping documentation, labels, and packing slips.
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
Shipping Supplies & General Support
- Manage and maintain shipping supplies including boxes, cushioning materials, tape, and labels.
- Monitor supply levels and submit requests to replenish stock as needed.
- Keep the shipping and receiving area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Perform other activities and duties as required by business needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics environment preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and shipping software a plus.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
