ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER – COMMERCIAL SOLAR INSTALLATIONS
Location: Long Island, New York
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the development and execution of commercial solar energy projects. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating commercial solar installations and working with multiple stakeholders, including property owners, engineers, utility companies, municipalities, subcontractors, suppliers, and installation crews.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate may be involved in one or more of the following project phases:
- Initial Site Assessment and Feasibility Analysis
- Utility Bill Analysis and Energy Consumption Review
- Site Survey and Data Collection
- Proposal Development and Financial Analysis
- Client Presentations and Contract Execution
- Engineering Coordination and Design Review
- Structural Evaluation Coordination
- Utility Interconnection Application Submission
- Permit Application and Approval Process
- AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) Coordination
- Equipment Procurement and Vendor Management
- Material Delivery Scheduling
- Project Scheduling and Resource Planning
- Subcontractor and Installer Coordination
- Site Safety Planning and Compliance
- Construction Management and Field Supervision
- Change Order Management
- Quality Control and Inspection Coordination
- Utility Witness Testing and Interconnection Approval
- System Commissioning and Startup
- Final Municipal Inspection
- PTO (Permission to Operate) Coordination
- Project Close-Out Documentation
- Warranty and Service Coordination
- Customer Handover and Training
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with commercial solar projects preferred
- Knowledge of permitting, utility interconnection, construction scheduling, and field operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently
