The Test Technician – II is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and systems within their area of expertise. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing regular maintenance, and ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical testing procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.

A successful candidate must be able to:

  • Conduct high-voltage testing on electrical components and assemblies to ensure insulation integrity and safety.
  • Set up and calibrate Hi-Pot test equipment according to specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues or failures during testing.
  • Interpret test results and document findings accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve any functional issues.
  • Install and configure equipment and systems according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Perform initial testing and calibration to ensure proper functionality.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment to maintain optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Repair or replace faulty components and systems to restore functionality.
  • Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately.
  • Use various tools to build and repair systems.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Report any safety hazards or violations to the supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to collaborate with our production and engineering teams.
  • Ability to utilize past experiences to innovate on troubleshooting production issues.
  • Ability to critically evaluate repairs to ensure we are not just fixing the symptom instead of going after the source of the problem.
  • Ability to devise better ways to test and measure solar equipment.
  • High level of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in power electronics troubleshooting and repair.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, lifting 50 lbs, bending, stooping, computer work, working with live electricity, and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations.
