Responsible for promoting and maintaining a culture of safety within the organization. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement effective safety measures. The Safety Specialist will contribute to the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training programs, fostering a proactive approach to safety throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with theleadershipto develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures across the organization.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
- Lead andparticipatein safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to reinforce safe practices.
- Assistin the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses,identifyingroot causes and contributing to the development of effective corrective measures.
- Maintainaccuraterecords of safety-related incidents, training sessions, and safety inspections in collaboration with theleadership.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills, contributing to the development and improvement of emergency protocols.
- Act as a resource for employeesregardingsafety concerns, addressing inquiries and providing support as needed.
- Assistwith onboarding new hires, including safety documentation, orientation, and required training.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and efficiency.

- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to investigate, analyze information and draw conclusions.
- Understanding of continuous improvement of safety programs in compliance with changing safety standards.
- 1-3 years of industry experience in a safety role or the warehouse/distribution sector.
- OSHA 30 General Industry or willingness to earn within 6 months of start.
- Professional H&S certification is beneficial but notrequired(CSP, COSS, ASP, OHST, CHST, etc.)
- This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting50 lbs , bending, stooping, computer work, and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations .
