JOB TITLE: Psychologist
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Provides for the assessment and coordination of psychological services for students enrolled in special education classes.
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO
Director, Special Education or designee
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Valid credential authorized by the State of California for school psychologist. Previous school experience with exceptional children preferred.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
•Provides in-service training to staff in behavioral techniques and assists staff in implementing the individualized instructional program upon request.
•Performs individual assessments as mandated by law.
•Assists with in-service training activities related to the pupil personnel areas and keeps updated in techniques that improve interpersonal relationships between pupil, teacher, other staff members, parents, and the community.
•Attends IEP meetings.
•Coordinates with staff members on a multidisciplinary team.
•Assists the Director, Special Education in areas related to the overall instruction and behavior of the students upon request.
•Assesses and develops Individualized Education Program for students.
•Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of Psychologist.
