Duties

  • Assist with patient intake, including collecting vital signs, medical history, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently.
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during procedures such as dermatology treatments, inpatient care, or emergency medicine interventions.
  • Perform phlebotomy and medication administration with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Support medical documentation efforts by accurately recording patient encounters, ICD coding, and detailed notes in medical records.
  • Manage medical office operations including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining organized medical records.
  • Conduct basic physiology assessments and support patient care activities across outpatient, inpatient, or trauma center environments.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards by monitoring vital signs, assisting with emergency procedures like Basic Life Support (BLS), and supporting hospital medicine or Level I/II trauma center protocols.

Experience

  • Proven experience in medical office settings with a focus on dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR), including documentation of medical history, medication administration, and ICD coding.
  • Inpatient or outpatient experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with pharmacology principles relevant to outpatient and inpatient care environments.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical assisting techniques essential for delivering excellent patient service.
  • Previous hospital experience or OR exposure is advantageous for supporting complex procedures and emergency responses.
