Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the night shift position. Our newly constructed 14-bed Hospice House is located conveniently off 40/64 in OFallon, Mo. We are a local female owned Hospice Company that started in 2018. We saw a need during the pandemic for a Hospice House and quickly got to work. We are the first Hospice House to open in St. Charles County and are so excited to bring this needed resource to our community.
The RN night shift nurse will work 3- 12 hour shifts a week, with weekend rotation being every 3rd weekend (1 shift during the week and 2 weekend shifts). The weekend shifts will include differential pay and there are current opportunities for RN Night Charge Nurse. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and 3 weeks of PTO and are very big advocates for work/life balance.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during the night shift, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusions and injections.
- Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including case management and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and ventilator management as needed.
- Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and post-discharge care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or long-term care facilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Critical care experience is highly desirable; Level I or II trauma center experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
- Skills in patient assessment, triage, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and airway management are essential.
- Experience working with diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities or memory care needs is beneficial.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
