Solu is currently seeking a Senior Firewall Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for managing enterprise security platforms, including firewalls, proxies, and load balancers, to ensure secure and compliant operations. The role involves configuring security policies, troubleshooting security-related issues, and developing standardized processes to optimize security workflows. The Senior Firewall Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support secure application integration within Co-Lo, Azure, and legacy data center environments while maintaining compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and support enterprise firewall rules, policies, and security controls.
- Troubleshoot firewall, network security, and connectivity issues through log analysis and root cause investigation.
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure firewall policies align with organizational standards and best practices.
- Manage load balancing policies, content switching, and virtual IP (VIP) configurations to support application availability and performance.
- Support secure web gateway and proxy technologies to enable secure and compliant web access.
- Implement policies related to web access, content filtering, and data loss prevention.
- Assist in integrating security technologies into newly migrated applications and infrastructure.
- Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to support application migrations into Co-Lo and Azure environments.
- Develop and document processes, workflows, standards, and escalation procedures for security operations.
- Act as a primary troubleshooter for firewall, proxy, load balancing, and related infrastructure issues.
- Identify and implement best practices to optimize security and IT operations.
- Develop and maintain documentation, workflows, and automation to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Collaborate across teams to improve operational efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance response times.
- Utilize data-driven insights to improve system performance and security posture.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning to adapt to evolving technologies and threats.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in network security, security operations, systems integration, or infrastructure engineering.
- Hands-on experience managing enterprise firewall technologies.
- Experience with firewall platforms such as Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower, or similar technologies.
- Experience with load balancing technologies such as Citrix NetScaler, F5, or comparable solutions.
- Experience with proxy, secure web gateway, or web security technologies preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting network security issues and managing security configurations.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, including Azure, and enterprise data center operations.
- Proven ability to develop and document processes, workflows, and security policies.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze data and leverage insights to improve system performance and security posture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Check Point firewall technologies, including MDS, VSX, and Maestro.
- Experience with Citrix NetScaler VPX or other application delivery controller (ADC) technologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise security operations in regulated environments.
Salary : $120,000 - $160,000
