Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, stoves, ovens, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist with meal assembly, portioning, and plating to ensure timely service
- Support menu planning by suggesting improvements and new dish ideas based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service flow
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and adhering to safety standards in production
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, with a strong foundation in culinary techniques
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Understanding of food safety management principles and sanitation standards
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen staff
- Ability to perform meal preparation efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Experience with catering or large-scale food production is advantageous
