What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Counsel position at Sokol Associates Inc.?
We are looking for a Litigation Attorney with 4-6 years of experience for our client, a technology company in New York City. The position will involve managing litigation matters, including commercial disputes, regulatory inquiries and government investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of litigation and pre-litigation matters in the U.S. including:
- Commercial disputes
- Regulatory investigations
- Internal investigations
- Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders, including product, engineering, HR, compliance, and executive teams.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and internal reports.
- Coordinate with and manage outside counsel to ensure effective and cost-efficient handling of litigation matters.
- Advise on dispute avoidance and risk mitigation.
- Support internal investigations and respond to subpoenas, government inquiries, and other regulatory matters.
Qualifications:
- Member in good standing of the New York Bar
- 4-6 years of litigation experience at a Big law firm.
- Experience handling complex litigation, including regulatory matters and government investigations.
