Overview
The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for managing Sojourner Center’s annual giving program, with a focus on donors giving less than $1,000 annually. This role includes the coordination of direct mail appeals, data entry and management, donor stewardship, monthly giving growth, and management of online fundraising platforms. This position ensures timely and accurate gift entry and acknowledgment, maintains the integrity of the Bloomerang donor database, and supports the broader fundraising team in cultivating and retaining donors.
Responsibilities
Accurately enters and maintains records of gifts, pledges, and donor interactions in Bloomerang in a timely manner.
Generates and distributes customized acknowledgment letters for all gifts and special campaigns.
Establishes and enforces standardized data entry protocols; performs regular audits for data integrity.
Provides reports, donor profiles, and segmented lists to support development initiatives, campaigns, and events.
Manages the reconciliation of gift entry with Director of Philanthropy and the Finance Department on a monthly basis.
Creates mailing and email lists for appeals, newsletters, donor communications, and event invitations.
Responds to donor inquiries related to giving history and acknowledgments with a high level of professionalism and customer service.
Supports and trains other staff and volunteers in using Bloomerang as needed.
Plans, executes, and evaluates annual fundraising campaigns, including direct mail and digital appeals.
Focuses on engaging and stewarding donors who give under $999 annually, with emphasis on promoting Arizona Charitable Tax Credit and monthly giving.
Oversees online fundraising platforms including Qgiv and ensures smooth integration with Bloomerang; creates and manages online forms as needed.
Helps to develop and manage stewardship strategies and touchpoints for annual donors, including thank-you calls, handwritten notes, and impact updates.
Grows and retains monthly donors through targeted communications, reporting, and recognition efforts.
Assists with donor and volunteer correspondence, including invitations, reminders, nametags, and thank-you letters.
Supports the philanthropic team with general fundraising tasks and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
1–2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on individual giving or donor relations.
Proficiency in Bloomerang and Qgiv strongly preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
Working Conditions & Physical Factors
Primarily an in-office role with flexibility for hybrid work as determined by department needs.
Requires use of computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
May involve some lifting (up to 25 lbs) and long periods of sitting or standing during events.
Other Duties
Performs other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the organization.
