Overview
Soiltech is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Environmental Geologist or Environmental Engineer to join our growing environmental consulting team in Orlando. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in environmental assessment, remediation, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Florida environmental regulations and a professional license (PG or PE) and will contribute to a wide range of land development and regulatory projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
- Prepare environmental assessment reports, soil management plans, and groundwater monitoring plans
- Support the development of Remedial Action Plans and contamination background studies
- Ensure regulatory compliance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and local county regulations
- Prepare detailed technical documentation suitable for review by regulatory agencies and legal counsel
- Assist with permitting, environmental monitoring, and site closure strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (required)
- Active Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant environmental consulting experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of FDEP and local environmental regulations
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Collaborative and adaptable approach in a fast-paced consulting environment
- Proficiency with standard office software and environmental reporting tools
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites
- OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification preferred or ability to obtain
