What You'll Do
- Plan, coordinate, and perform geotechnical investigations.
- Supervise drilling operations, soil borings, test pits, CPT soundings, and monitoring well installations.
- Classify soils and rock in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, USCS, and FDOT standards.
- Review and interpret laboratory and field testing results.
- Perform engineering analyses related to shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, settlement, slope stability, pavements, and earthwork.
- Prepare clear, technically sound Geotechnical Engineering Reports.
- Develop engineering recommendations for construction and site development.
- Provide field observation and construction support during foundation installation, earthwork, and site grading.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, drilling subcontractors, laboratories, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, budgets, and schedules.
- Assist with proposals, project planning, and business development activities.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Experience with geotechnical field investigations and engineering analysis.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Florida.
Preferred
- Experience with FDOT projects.
- Familiarity with Florida soils and subsurface conditions.
- Experience using geotechnical software such as gINT, LPILE, GeoStudio, Settle3, FB-Deep, or similar applications.
- Project management experience.
- Existing relationships with clients, contractors, or public agencies are a plus.
