Job Description:

The Laboratory Technician supports both the Materials Testing and Geotechnical departments by performing a variety of laboratory tests, preparing and processing samples, and ensuring accurate documentation of results. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to established testing procedures, and a commitment to maintaining laboratory quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory testing on soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete samples in accordance with established procedures and standards.
  • Review, label, document, and store incoming samples for testing.
  • Follow testing procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Accurately record test data, analyze results, and report findings to the supervisor.
  • Safely lift and move samples weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist in maintaining AASHTO accreditation by participating in proficiency sample testing, equipment calibration, and employee competency evaluations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and data entry.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain AASHTO certifications and pursue additional professional development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
