Position Overview
Soilcea is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to support our cutting-edge research in citrus biotechnology. This position offers hands-on experience in CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing workflows and plant tissue culture techniques, contributing directly to the development of disease-resistant citrus varieties. The ideal candidate will have a background in life sciences and a passion for laboratory work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in Agrobacterium-mediated plant transformations
• Support tissue culture and regeneration of citrus plants
• Maintain plant materials and lab inventory
• Prepare media and reagents for experiments
• Perform general lab maintenance including dishwashing and cleaning
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized workspace
Required Qualifications
• Familiarity with basic lab techniques and sterile procedures preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
• Willingness to learn and contribute to a team-oriented research environment
