Job Title: Youth Education Coordinator

Classification: Non-exempt

Reports To: Youth Education Manager

Job Summary

The Youth Education Coordinator will support the day-to-day operations of our youth education programs. . This position is responsible for the administrative and logistical backbone of our youth programs, from expanding teacher training to supporting our popular school gardens. The coordinator will manage key team operations, including scheduling and time sheets, and will act as a crucial link for purchasing and financial reporting. They will also be on the ground, helping with weekly field trips and Saturday programming, and contributing to the success of our grant initiatives through reporting and data collection.

Key Responsibilities Detail

Team Management Tasks (50%)

  • Schedules
  • Time Sheets
  • Processing time-off requests and updating the employee absence tracking sheet
  • Team tasks for weekly and monthly rhythms
  • Intern schedule changes
  • Team meeting notes/coordination
  • Team goal setting, professional development and mentoring

Administrative Tasks in Collaboration with Youth Education Manager (10%)

  • Support volunteer coordination for school gardens
  • Liaison to financial manager
  • Material purchasing for Youth Education Team
  • Special Project Support for Youth Manager
  • Expand teacher training opportunities

Field Trip Support (25%)

  • 2 days a week
  • Support in extra educational programming as schedule demands

Saturday Programming (10%)

  • Volunteer and intern management/support when needed
  • Li’l Sprouts / Just for Kids support/backup

Grants (5%)

  • Reports and report editing
  • Grant budget support
  • Data Collection

Experience Required

  • Experience in Youth Development and Program Management: At least 2 years of experience working with youth in an educational or non-profit setting, including a demonstrated ability to manage a team, mentor staff, and oversee program logistics.
  • Administrative & Operational Skills: Proficiency in time management, scheduling, and administrative tasks. Experience with budget support, material purchasing, and data collection is a plus.
  • Educational and Interpersonal Skills:
  • Strong teaching and facilitation skills, particularly in an outdoor, farm, or garden setting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive and effective relationships with staff, volunteers, community members, and youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team and with a manager to achieve shared goals.
  • Knowledge & Problem-Solving:
  • Some knowledge of organic gardening principles and practices is preferred.
  • Experience with non-profit and grant reporting is a plus.
  • A proactive and resourceful approach to problem solving, with the ability to “think on your feet” and manage special projects from start to finish.

Hours and Compensation

This is a full time position requiring 40 hours a week, including weekends and some evenings. Hourly wage based on experience. Medical, vision, dental, 401k, paid holidays, paid time off and farm produce provided.
