The Role
You'll split your time between animal care and adoptions. Animal care means feeding, cleaning, and monitoring dogs and cats, sanitizing kennels, handling animals of all sizes and temperaments, and following disease control and safety protocols. On the adoptions side, you'll be the first face people see when they walk through the door — guiding visitors through the process, answering phones, and representing SoHumane to the public.
Physical Expectations
This is a hands-on role. You'll be on your feet all shift in a loud kennel environment, regularly lifting up to 50 lbs, working with cleaning chemicals, and handling unpredictable animals. Shelter work has an emotional side too, and some days are harder than others. We're looking for someone who brings steadiness and reliability to both.
Weekend and holiday availability is required.
