Cleaning and Maintenance Worker

SOHO Suites Atlantic City Beach Block is looking for a dependable, hands on Maintenance & Houseman to join our small hotel team. This is a key position responsible for keeping the property clean, safe, functional, and well maintained every day.

We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of maintenance experience who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and understands that completing a task means following it through from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily maintenance and service requests throughout the hotel
• Work from the hotel's daily service and maintenance log, completing each item and removing or marking it completed once the work is finished
• Follow up on unfinished repairs and communicate any issues that cannot be completed
• Perform preventive maintenance and regularly inspect guest rooms, common areas, bathrooms, hallways, exterior areas, and equipment
• Handle basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
• Paint, touch up walls, doors, trim, furniture, and other areas as needed
• Repair and maintain hotel fixtures, furniture, doors, locks, lights, appliances, and other equipment
• Assist with moving furniture, deliveries, trash removal, room setups, and general Houseman duties
• Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment organized and in good condition
• Work closely with the Front Desk, Housekeeping, and management to respond quickly to guest and hotel needs
• Help identify maintenance problems before they become larger or more expensive issues
• Maintain a clean and safe property and report safety concerns immediately
• Document completed work and communicate important maintenance issues to management

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or similar property
• Strong attention to detail and excellent follow through
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently
• Someone who takes ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
• Comfortable working as part of a small team where everyone helps each other
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete work efficiently
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude
• Comfortable interacting with guests when needed
• Able to lift, carry, bend, climb stairs, and perform physical work throughout the day
• Must be willing to help wherever needed to keep the hotel running smoothly

The right person for this position is someone who sees a problem, puts it on the list, fixes it, checks the work, and marks it complete. We are a small team, so reliability, communication, and follow through are extremely important.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
