Forklift Operator
POSITION SUMMARY
Load and unload trucks according to company standards and customer requirements, ensuring that all shipments are handled efficiently and safely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working under the guidelines of the Safety and Food Safety Programs.
- Practice GMP's.
- Handling of all finished materials produced according to established SOP's.
- Delivery of all finished goods.
- Sign for all delivered goods through a method and process of cycle counting.
- Inspection of all finished material for visual defects.
- Responsibility for physical counts, as well as associated paperwork when totaling Production counts.
- Support team in achievement of goals.
- Perform Housekeeping duties as set forth.
- Operate Forklift. Read gauges, conduct forklift battery maintenance, and is responsible for using safety devices provided by the company (airlocks, seatbelts, etc).
- Must be able to perform all jobs associated with Warehouse/Shipping as directed.
- Other duties (including ground maintenance) that may be assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Able to read and write English.
- Must be able distinguish (by sight, sound, touch, or other senses) whether his/her machine is operating correctly or is in a proper state of repair.
- Able to work in extreme temperatures and wet/humid environments.
- Flexible to work extended hours and weekends.
- Able to follow through and complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to apply common sense reasoning to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form with attention to detail.
- Reasonable knowledge of Whitfield Food's customers, product line, ingredients and packaging.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as food safety and safety rules and work instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Team oriented.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High School Degree or equivalent.
JOB SPECIFIC TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Forklift Driving Evaluation
- Forklift Classroom Training
- Battery Lift Changing Training
