Role Overview
The Scrum Master / Project Manager Lead is a senior delivery leader responsible for successfully planning, managing, and delivering complex technology initiatives by combining Agile Scrum leadership with traditional project management practices. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, architects, and technical teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate is an experienced servant leader who can facilitate Agile delivery while providing strong project governance, risk management, stakeholder communication, and executive reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Agile & Scrum Leadership
- Serve as the Lead Scrum Master across multiple Agile teams or complex enterprise initiatives.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives while promoting Agile best practices.
- Coach Scrum teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles, self-organization, and continuous improvement.
- Drive Agile maturity across teams while supporting hybrid delivery methodologies including Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, and Waterfall.
- Remove team and organizational impediments to improve delivery velocity and team effectiveness.
Project & Program Management
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of multiple concurrent technology projects.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, resource allocations, budgets, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Partner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, architects, and technical teams to define project scope, priorities, and delivery roadmaps.
- Monitor project health, proactively identify risks and roadblocks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Prepare and present project status reports, dashboards, executive updates, and governance documentation to leadership and stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and shared services to ensure alignment across multiple workstreams and enterprise initiatives.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Mentor Scrum Masters, Project Managers, and delivery team members while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
- Define, monitor, and communicate Agile and project delivery metrics including sprint velocity, predictability, milestone achievement, budget performance, resource utilization, and overall project health.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance delivery processes, Agile maturity, and organizational effectiveness.
- Facilitate conflict resolution, remove delivery obstacles, and promote collaboration across business and technical teams.
- Ensure compliance with SDLC standards, governance processes, quality expectations, and organizational delivery methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience leading technology projects as a Scrum Master, Project Manager, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar delivery leadership role.
- Strong experience managing enterprise software development projects using Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, and traditional Waterfall methodologies.
- Demonstrated success managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and executive stakeholder communications.
- Proven ability to facilitate Scrum ceremonies while coaching Agile teams and driving continuous improvement across multiple teams or programs.
- Experience partnering with Product Owners, business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience using Agile and project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent certification required.
- PMP certification or equivalent Project Management certification is preferred.

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $110,000 - $160,000.
This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
