Data Engineer

Role: Data Engineer (Synapse)

Location: Bellevue, WA

Development activities:

• Ability to gather and understand requirements by studying features/ user stories created for requirements and work on implementing them.
• Design and development for the change requests from client.
• Ability to analyze existing data flow and suggest for any enhancements/ improvements based on technical expertise.
• Preparing test scenarios/ test cases for the user stories and sharing the unit testing results as part of the development completion.

Operations activities:

• Monitor data extract, transform, and load (ETL) jobs, pipelines and work to fix the job failures.
• Troubleshooting to identify data issues and solving any data discrepancies and providing business intelligence insights.
• Provide support to the users on any data related questions/issues reported during UAT and PROD cycles.

Technical skills:

Expertise/ at least 7 years of experience in

• Microsoft SQL Server
• Database and ETL design concepts
• T SQL
• SQL server Analysis server
• Fluent in DAX queries (good to have)
• Azure Synapse – including creating scripts for ETL using Python(pyspark)
• Experience with excel – includes creating data pivots to different sources for analyzing
• Good to have prior experience with Microsoft projects, process, and tools (like VSTS, VSO)

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is 135K to 145K per annum.

This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
