Tooling Technician - (Plastic Injection Mold Maintenance and Repairs)
Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing facility as a Tooling Mold Maintenance Technician and become a vital part of our team dedicated to ensuring seamless operations and optimal equipment performance.
The primary role for this position is to perform equipment tear downs, diagnose, maintain, facilitate the repair of injection molds and associated equipment. The technician will be expected to perform preventive maintenance and complete assigned tasks to ensure consistent quality and to minimize production downtime. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, physical endurance, attention to detail and must work well with others. This position requires the operation of forklift and overhead crane rigging.
Minimum Requirements
· High school diploma
· 2 years of experience in plastic injection mold maintenance.
· Basic Blueprint reading. (CAD experience a plus)
· Must have a strong understanding of machining practices related to mold industry.
· Basic electrical knowledge
· Ability to maintain focus while multitasking projects.
· Basic knowledge of mold metals and application and repair methods.
· Hydraulic build and repairs (hydraulic hoses, cylinders..)
· Basic Microsoft Office
Duties
· Responsible for following work instructions and company safety standards.
· Receive and send reports daily (Microsoft Outlook)
· Troubleshoot problems by critical thinking and discussing with management.
· Collaborate with engineering team to solve tooling issues.
· Disassembly, cleaning, and reassemble of complex plastic injection molds.
· Laser weld and bench mold components
· Diagnose and repair hot runner systems
· Inspect components utilizing precision measuring instruments (calipers, mics etc.)
· Maintain a safe and clean work area
· Overtime may be expected
Qualifications
· Graduate of high school or GED.
· Self-motivated and dependable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work well as a team member and leader.
· Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner.
· Some experience in a manufacturing environment would be helpful.
· Forklift experience.
- Overhead crane experience.
Working conditions
· While performing the duties of this Job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and is exposed to humid conditions and temperature extremes.
Physical requirements
· Position requires the abilities to walk, sit, stand, lift and carry up to 60 pounds; ability to hear, understand and convey verbal communications of and to other personnel.
Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
