Role: Hydrogeology Project Manager-Intermediate
Location: Columbia, SC
Position: Remote
Duration: Long Term
Candidate Location: SC residency is not required however, resources MUST live within a 6-hour radius from Columbia, SC due to potential onsite travel.
We are seeking an experienced Hydrogeologist to manage permitting and compliance projects. The ideal candidate will apply expertise in groundwater hydrogeology, contaminant transport, and investigation techniques to support state environmental programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hydrogeological reviews for land application and groundwater monitoring sites.
- Utilize ePermitting or equivalent electronic government permitting systems.
- Manage databases and geospatial software for environmental analysis.
- Interpret and apply federal and state groundwater/wastewater regulations.
- Plan, coordinate, and track projects to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
- Prepare clear reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Hydrology, Geology, or Geological Engineering 1 year related experience; OR Bachelor’s degree 2 years related experience.
- Completion of ePermitting Power User training (or equivalent expertise).
- Working knowledge of groundwater hydrogeology, contaminant transport, and investigation methods.
- Proficiency with databases and geospatial software.
- Strong project management, writing, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in hydrogeological review, database/geospatial management, and groundwater contaminant studies.
- Expertise in managing multiple concurrent projects from planning to delivery.
- Familiarity with state environmental regulatory policies and procedures.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to deliver insightful project reporting and data-driven decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
