Multi-State Licensed Pharmacist

Software Methods is seeking a full-time Multi-State Licensed Pharmacist to assist our client in the Deerfield Beach, FL area. This is 100% on-site.

The ideal candidate holds active pharmacist licenses in multiple U.S. states and is able to take the position as Pharmacist in Charge. Candidate would be responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and compliant dispensing of prescription medications while providing exceptional patient care with the goal of assisting the pharmacy in becoming licensed in all states. This role requires collaboration with healthcare providers, patients, insurance companies, and internal teams to optimize medication therapy and maintain compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with federal and state pharmacy laws.
• Maintain active pharmacist licensure in multiple states and ensure compliance with each state's regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and therapeutic duplications.
• Provide clinical consultation and medication counseling to patients and caregivers.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Review and resolve prescription clarification requests and medication-related issues.
• Support prior authorization, formulary review, appeals, and insurance-related medication access when applicable.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the pharmacy management system.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, DEA, FDA, USP, and all applicable state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, medication safety programs, and continuous process improvement.
• Assist with pharmacy audits, accreditation activities, and regulatory inspections.
• Stay current on new medications, clinical guidelines, and changes in pharmacy regulations across licensed states.

Required Skills:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in multiple U.S. states (minimum of 12 or more preferred).
• Ability to obtain additional state licenses as business needs require.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations.
• Excellent clinical judgment and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and electronic health records.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Specialty pharmacy, mail-order, PBM, infusion, or ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with prior authorizations, reimbursement, and insurance benefit investigations.
• Licensed in the following states (AK, AL, AR, CA, IA, ID, IL, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MS, NE, NV, OK, OR, TN, TX, VA, WV).
