Backend Full-Stack Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Backend Full-Stack Engineer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in San Francisco, CA .

You'll be building a platform used by analysts who oversee the integrity of U.S. financial markets. The work sits at the intersection of complex data systems and user-facing design - turning sophisticated data pipelines into tools that non-technical users can operate with confidence. Your systems will be powered by the largest cloud-hosted dataset in the financial regulatory space, processing billions of market events daily. It's a greenfield opportunity to shape the front-end architecture from the ground up, with a team that values great work-life balance.

Responsibilities :

• Working with the product team to build applications that enable our users to be more effective
• Contribute to design and implementation of these solutions leveraging industry standards and best-practices
• Develop scalable back-end systems to integrate with existing user platforms
• Support team in shepherding releases through the engineering process through to production

Required Skills :

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar
• 5 years of experience building production quality web-based multi-tier web applications
• Significant experience building restful web services in Java (Spring), Python (Django/Flask/Fast), or Scala(Play)
• Experience integrating with web front-ends with modern JS frameworks like Angular
• Experience building data platform or data analytics web applications
• Experience with SQL in big data environments, writing and analyzing complex queries
• Familiarity with building on Amazon AWS services, and using the AWS console and command line tools
• Experience working in agile scrum methodologies using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) development practices
• Experience writing automated unit, component, and integration tests
• Able to adapt to evolving business priorities and requirements

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with data pipelines integrated with Machine Learning models
• Hands on experience with data pipelines and big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Flink, or similar
• Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar
• Experience using AI throughout the development lifecycle, such as leveraging AI code assistance, spec-driven development, using skills to speed up development workflows

Salary : $68 - $70
