Lead Product Manager (Search Platform)

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Product Manager (Enterprise Search) for a Long Term Contract Role with one of our premier Regulatory clients. Must work in one of these office locations: Rockville MD or Tysons VA.

Hybrid position - 3x a week on-site

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Product Manager to own and evolve core information discovery platforms into the age of AI. This role will lead multiple products, including Enterprise Search, driving strategic roadmap execution, product evolution, and AI-enabled innovation. The ideal candidate will have deep search and information retrieval experience, strong technical fluency, and excellent stakeholder communication.

Major Purpose

• Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for Enterprise Search and Profiles products.
• Define product outcomes and lead the evolution of legacy platforms through AI and modern search capabilities.
• Manage product backlogs and prioritize work based on user needs, business value, and stakeholder expectations.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and roadmap for information discovery products, ensuring alignment with business goals and user outcomes.
• Manage multiple products within the portfolio, balancing priorities and coordinating across teams.
• Provide expertise in search and information retrieval, including indexing, storage, and retrieval workflows.
• Drive integration of AI/GenAI into search and discovery workflows, enabling automated and intelligent data retrieval.
• Partner with internal customers and stakeholders to understand workflows, define requirements, and deliver measurable value.
• Communicate clearly and professionally to all audiences, including executives, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Modernize legacy products with a focus on usability, performance, and measurable impact.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading search products or information retrieval platforms (ElasticSearch/OpenSearch or similar).
• Strong technical understanding of search architecture and data systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple products and drive product lifecycle from ideation to delivery.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present to all audiences.
• Experience with AI/GenAI in search or product innovation is a plus.
• Enterprise or internal product experience preferred.
