Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse Obstetrics to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to women during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, fetal monitoring, and physical examinations specific to obstetric care.
- Administer medications and treatments such as epidurals, oxytocin, and antibiotics following established protocols.
- Monitor labor progress using electronic fetal monitoring systems and intervene appropriately to ensure safety.
- Assist with obstetric procedures including suturing, sterile technique management, and assisting in cesarean sections within the operating room.
- Educate patients on prenatal care, childbirth options, postpartum recovery, and newborn care practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal specialists to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Support emergency obstetric situations by providing critical care interventions and participating in trauma medicine protocols.
- Ensure infection control standards are upheld through proper aseptic techniques and adherence to hospital policies.
- Facilitate discharge planning by providing education on postpartum care, breastfeeding support, and follow-up appointments.
Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
