About the role:

As the Director of Close and Consolidations, you will be a key leader within the Accounting team, responsible for overseeing complex business issues and driving our long-term accounting technical and operational strategy. You will report directly to the CAO / Corporate Controller and serve as the primary point of accountability on close and consolidations process management. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can navigate ambiguity, integrate processes across the broader Finance organization, and drive alignment between various specialized teams. You will bring deep expertise across complex multi-entity organizations, have strong financial and commercial instincts, and the ability to thrive in a complex, fast-moving organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and continuously improve the close calendar, establishing an efficient, disciplined monthly and quarterly close cadence aligned with reporting requirements.
  • Establish and document close policies, checklists, and cut-off procedures across all entities and functional teams.
  • Review and approve journal entries, elimination entries, intercompany and account reconciliations, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end consolidation processes end-to-end, host accounting close reviews, and oversee the preparation and quality review of the final consolidated accounting package.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver consolidated financial statements supporting reporting requirements. Maintain technical awareness of intercompany transactions, eliminations, foreign currency remeasurement and translation (including CTA), and multi-currency consolidation mechanics under both US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Provide analytical oversight of consolidated results, including variance analysis, key consolidation drivers, and insights across US GAAP and Non-GAAP metrics for senior finance and executive leadership.
  • Draft, review, and maintain accounting policies and position papers in coordination with Technical Accounting.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts architecture and reporting hierarchies to support consistency across legal entities and reporting dimensions, and ongoing entity additions, dissolutions, and organizational restructuring.
  • Build and own the control environment for close and consolidation, including key controls, ensuring compliance with internal control standards, alignment with audit requirements, and consistent policy adherence.
  • Drive simplification and automation across close and consolidation processes by standardizing systems, workflows, and reporting structures.
  • Partner with FP&A, Technical Accounting, and Tax teams to align consolidated financial results with management reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification required.
  • 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Prior experience at Big Four or large public accounting firm, with subsequent industry experience in senior in-house roles at multi-entity companies.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS. Experience working cross-functionally with Tax and Technical Accounting teams.
  • A background in highly capital-intensive industries (e.g., Hyperscale Data Centers, Energy/Utilities, Real Estate/Infrastructure), or public listed company.
  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated prior experience managing and developing direct reports, with a track record of fostering high-performing teams.
  • Hands-on experience with consolidation and close systems and driving process improvements through automation and standardization.
  • Proven ability to lead across a complex multi-entity structure, including disciplined documentation, policy governance, and audit readiness.
  • Agile, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with stakeholders predominantly in the FP&A, Tax, and Technical Accounting teams.
