Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Perform basic dental procedures such as taking X-rays, applying fluoride treatments, and assisting with fillings.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with established protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Implement infection control measures following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
- Utilize dental software systems, including Epic, for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
- Familiarity with medical coding, dental terminology, and general dentistry practices is advantageous.
- Experience in pediatrics is a plus, as we cater to patients of all ages.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with infection control standards.
