Maintenance Planner

Sofidel is a leading manufacturer of tissue products for domestic and hygienic use, committed to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our team at our Shelby facility. This role is critical in ensuring equipment reliability through effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Develop maintenance plans, including materials, man-hours, activity sequencing, and required support services.
• Coordinate and initiate preventative maintenance activities, including on-site measurements and parts verification.
• Create short, mid, and long-term maintenance plans for equipment.
• Monitor and track labor and materials in the MaintainX work order system; manage notifications and backlog; conduct maintenance log audits.
• Assist in developing equipment inspection procedures for proper maintenance of mill equipment. Lead maintenance shift hand-off meetings and issue daily work orders for electrical and mechanical teams.
• Collaborate with the Storeroom Coordinator to schedule spare parts, materials, and work order kitting for planned jobs.
• Develop Gantt charts for outage jobs and projects.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements; participate in incident investigations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  
  
  

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience or 3 years of related education in lieu of experience required. Maintenance planning experience preferred.
• Proficiency with computerized maintenance systems preferred. Strong skills in Microsoft Office; familiarity with MaintainX, Client Workflow, and related tools preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of industrial motor controls and troubleshooting required.
• Ability to work in conditions with temperature extremes, loud noise, dust, and industrial fluids.
• Must follow PPE standards (eye and ear protection, steel-toed shoes, etc.). Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm, with overtime or on-call as needed for 24/7 operations.
