What are the responsibilities and job description for the INSURANCE ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE position at SOFHA EMPLOYMENT SERVICES INC?

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and appeal claim denials from third-party carriers as justified.
- Comply with HCFA’s billing guidelines.
- Follow-up on unpaid third-party carrier claims.
- Proper documentation; operative notes, progress notes, consent forms, referral forms, and primary EOB’s.
- Transfer unpaid insurance balances to the guarantor.
- Answer patient phone calls and assist patients with resolving unpaid third-party claims.
- Identify problem payers and report them to the CBO manager.
- Balance all postings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of insurance billing and follow-up experience in the medical field or additional related education may be substituted for the two years of insurance experience.
